Business concept of the company IZVOR is based on the gift of nature, tradition, expertise and the vision for constant innovation in terms of production quality, healthy and safe food.

Izvor is the leading aquaculture production capacity of fresh trout and trout for consumption in the country with an annual production capacity of 400 tons of fresh fish.

IZVOR has two fish ponds, it is the pond Izvor and pond Izvor Belica, which produce 5 types of trout and fish spawn.

Today the company employs 25 people and has a distribution capacity that provides waterfront of the territory of the Republic of Macedonia and neighboring countries.

Just 100 grammes of trout will provide over 1000 milligrams of the EPA and DHA. These fats are vital for brain function and development, hormone health, fertility, skin, hair and nail health and energy. The omega 3 fats also have anti-inflammatory effects, so they are useful in inflammatory disorders such as arthritis.

The 21 grams of protein provided by a 85 grams serving of rainbow trout supplies 37 percent of the recommended daily allowance for an adult man and nearly 46 percent of the daily need for an adult woman. Trout is also a good source of minerals including selenium and iron.

Trout contains 6 grams of total fat, 1.4 grams of saturated fat and 60 milligrams of cholesterol in each 85 grams serving. It is a good protein to substitute in the diet for meats like beef, pork and lamb, which contain significantly higher amounts of saturated fat and cholesterol. Trout is also a good source of vitamin B12, a vitamin that is poorly absorbed from supplements.

GOLDEN TROUT

Golden trout is the result of crossbreeding a male from California in yellow and female of California trout with standard color. Compared to a standard trout, it has three times more fatty substances in the flesh structure, whose value ranges between 7 and 12 percent

RAINBOW TROUT

Originated in the Pacific Ocean coast of North America and in Europe it has been transferred in 1882. Spawns two or three years of age in the period from November to March.

RIVER TROUT

(Watercress) is an indigenous and endemic species of trout, characteristic for the waters in the Republic of Macedonia. The color of the body is obvious darker than other trout. This type of spawning trout takes place in the period from November to January.

BROODSTOCK

Trout will not spawn naturally in aquaculture systems, hence eggs are artificially spawned from high quality brood fish when fully mature. Broodstock are selected for fast growth and early maturation (usually after 2 years).

FINGERLINGS

Care of fingerling trout is a critical stage in the life of the trout. Inadequate feeding and care of fingerlings can affect the performance of the trout throughout their life cycle. Izvor has two types of fingerlings: rainbow and river trout fingerlings.
